Ambersun Alpacas - Auction 2009!

Ambersun Alpacas is proud to present the 'Ambersun Select' Alpaca Auction, 2009. The alpacas being offered represent 17 years of selective breeding, combining the very best alpaca genetics of Australia and Peru, to develop and refine an advanced and highly awarded breeding line. Outside of South America, Ambersun Alpacas is one of the world’s largest alpaca studs, with around 1,000 alpacas in its herd.

The quality of alpacas in the Ambersun herd has been evaluated and validated through a highly successful show career under the most acknowledged Australian and international alpaca judges. Alpacas fully or partly owned by Ambersun Alpacas have to date won a remarkable 632 Championship, Reserve Championship, Best of Colour or Best Progeny ribbons, in addition to an enviable 76 Supreme Championships in either alpaca or fleece categories. Their depth of quality is evident in a range of colours, with Supreme Championships having been awarded to white, light fawn, dark fawn and black alpacas in the Ambersun herd.

The alpacas displayed in the catalogue are available for sale by auction on Monday 12th October, 2009. The selection includes members of Ambersun’s prestigious championship winning show team, Peruvian imports, as well as promising youngsters with an exciting future. The selection of alpacas is also representative of the spectrum of colour in the Ambersun herd. In addition to superior quality, fine fleeced whites, on offer in the auction are spectacular fawns, brown, black and grey alpacas. Reluctantly, a rare leopard appaloosa female is also being released for the auction.

For breeders considering their own embryo transfer (ET) program, the selection of females on offer are of such a quality and with each boasting a star-laden pedigree, that they would be excellent ET donors.

With the increasing demand for superior quality certified males, Ambersun Alpacas will also release five of its best breeding males. Carefully selected, these males provide advanced fleece quality in an array of colour to satisfy the needs of breeders specialising in colour or wanting to colour their life.
